Shinkula Pass

Shingo-La[1] (also known as Shinku La) is a mountain pass in India, on the border between Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. There is a shallow lake or pool 20m below the pass. The pass is on a long-distance footpath linking Zanskar[2] and Lahaul, used often by locals and trekkers alike. The monumental size of divine mountains around this pass is as if we touching earth’s horizon. Almost Divine in another sense. In a Buddhist socio-religious context, such mountain passes are shrines to convey World Peace, Prosperity, Happiness, Compassion and Harmony.
